i get 11.0 mpg on interstate at 80mph and 12-13 around town. (this is according to the overhead display) over about a 4 month period i averaged 12.8 mpg. i can go about 400miles on a tank so the figures are pretty close.
Welcome to FTE. I don't have a 350 but if you drop your speed down to 70 or less and keep the tack below 2000 rpms on the interstate you'll see better mileage. I put mine on cruise and sit back and relax and get about 17-18 if i really take it easy. Doesn't help me much when i,m running late though.
With 3.73 I get 21-24 highway, at 65-70 not 80.
That lead foot will cost you, especially with 4-11's.
Use your odometer and a couple of tanks to see your true fuel economy.
first the overhead display may or may not be close to accurate
my truck at about 80 will get 15s to low 16s hand calculated
at 65 will get 17.5 and 55 18s to 19s
around town bout 14.5 to 15
those numbers are with DP on 40T
i got it if i go slower. but is that non **** poor mileage? even at slow speeds say 50-60mph. on flat ground if i let off the accelerator i immediately start to slow down quickly. the truck will not coast. my front axle/drive shaft is not spinning. although that is what it feels like.
the reason i am questioning this is i drove a 04' 3500 dodge today on about a 300mi haul and burned a little over half a tank of fuel. the overhead showed 12.9mpg @ 75mph. 30' trailer with 2 1960's full size ford (boat) cars. I cant get that mileage unloaded in my truck!
I have about the same truck except 4 the gears (3.73) and the best Ive gotten was 15mpg. Just did warn lock outs hoping it may help but hoping a DP tunner will help more when I get it. i would also try a fuel additive

thats what im saying. even if i baby it it MIGHT! get 15 at best. i wonder if there might be a difference in my truck and earlier say 99-01 trucks or something. why can ppl get high teens and i cant even get in the teens?

Jake, listen to the answers that have already been posted. Do not believe the liar in the console. It's made for ppl that can't count and don't care. Do your own math. And get your right foot out of the engine compartment.
Check your tire pressure, keep good oil in her, change your air & fuel filters, yadda-yadda-yadda......
And remember, you have 4-11's, you will get less that 3.73's.

ok. on another note... what programmer/chip/module is considered the one to have? the truck is stock! it is an automatic and i pull an enclosed trailer

a friend had an '03 just like mine and got better milage than mine
Top off the tank, reset the odometer and drive. When you fill the tank again take the milleage and devide it by the gallons and you will have your exact mpg. I do it all the time and can even tell roughly how much I'm getting every time I fill up. I still write it down just to be sure.

Before you decide to get a DP-TUNER, It would be a good idea to get exhaust, intake, gauges, and a VB of some sort, then the DP. You could read for a week on DP-TUNER on here.
