The more you spend, the longer it will last. Wal Mart and Autozone Valuecraft batteries typically last a year or two, less if they sit. I've had good luck with the mid-range Duralast or Duralast Gold batteries from Autozone. You don't have to fork out the cash for an Optima, but a battery around $80-100 should give you a few years. Spend the cash now so that you're not replacing the 12-month warranty batteries every 14 months.

x2 on the DuraLast from AutoZone.
When it does go it'll be easy to return. ;)
That's the reason I got out of the Sears Diehard "racket".
I wanted the replacement stores to be common and have late hours.

The Exides from Checker are crap now. :(
I took my last one back and told 'em...
"it ain't dead, just tired of it spittin acid on my pickup and want it pro-rated"
They didn't argue.
I told them I was disappointed in the last two Exide batteries...
"what happened to them, they used to be the best stuff? :/"
"they got bought out by ______(?) and haven't been good since :/"

YMMV

You won't go wrong with the Motorcraft. My 97 F250 still has it's 12 year old original battery, and it's also my snowplow truck.

I've had good luck with the everstart maxx batteries from wal-mart. They run around ~80 bucks and are 1000cca for the size that these trucks use.
