My 08 is doing the same thing. It seems to happen when snow is covering the windshield and blocking the compass sensor, which by the way is way different than the sensor in my 06. It just started doing it last week which is when we started get some snow accumulation. It does go back to normal after a while without having to drive in circles to re-calibrate it. When in cal mode the outside temp is not displayed and that sorta bugs me. Any Ideas???

I've used the calibration procedure outlined in the owners manual to reset my compass. Works well. As I recall, it involves driving in a circle.
