I hear a knock comming from the top of the motor. I think it all started when I was driving home. It overheated, shut down but I eventually got it home. Low on antifreeze, i replaced the loss but noticed a knock that has progressed to a steady knock. It still runs but afraid to drive at this point but it dosent sound good.
However one day I started the truck and noticed the charging light on. I opened the hood and saw that the serp belt was off and the knock was absent until I hooked it back up, then returned. Still no loss of anti freeze but belt is starting to shred. Any ideas, repair thoughts, ect.?
It also leaks oil from the back which I think it is the head gasket on a regular basis.
Well it is definitley the water pump so depending on the involvement on the repairs that can be done myself. Head gasket however might involve my mechanic. The oil leak comes from the back of the motor, towards the top but I can't get a clear view. I hear tapping everytime, mostly when I accelerate.
