and its almost spotless.
my questions is what should i look out for when i go to see the truck?

My 88 had a cracked head when I bought it. That is a problem with these little trucks. Some argue part of the problem is the one core radiator and that the heads crack when it over heats. If it's an auto transmission it is the A4LD. I really love the way that tranny works when it is good. But they don't seem to hold up well and rebuilds most of the time just last long enough to get it out of warranity. But if they are taken care of (not abused and have regular maintenence) they last for over 200,000 in stock form.

Many folks I have known just buy them cheap (a few hundred dollars) and drive them till they die. Then scrape um keeping the good parts and buy another.

i have a 87 and they too had problems with the auto tranny. after 2 rebuilds they converted it to the manual tranny. as for the engine, they went through 2, first wore out, the second the crank had snapped. i have had no problems with it even though i rolled the odometer, and it has not been overheated that i know of.

Bad automatic transmission, at 140K it is due to die.

Cracked heads. Best way is to check the oil and then pull the spark plugs.

If the engine has good compression and the heads are not cracked, you can probably get 200K from it.

Ripped body seams under the driver's floor.
