cold starts

My 2001 f250 will not start under 40 degrees. It will turn over as normal but not fire up. I have changed batteries and still no change. Over 40 degrees is fine. Whats up? It jumps off with help in seconds. No check engine light. Anyone go some advice or had simular problems. 7.3L.

You might want to check to see if your glow plugs are working.

You might also want to ask the guys in the 99 to 03 7.3 forum. Here is the link.

If the glow plugs were out or weak, would it jump off? Mine does. Once it cranks up in the morning with help, the rest of the day is fine. Seems to be pulling the battery down at night when it gets cold. But I have 2 new batteries. Thanks for the help.

The guys in that forum would be able to help you a little more than I could but it is a start.
