I have a Ford E 350 gas Motor home. The fuel tank won't take gas.
I've removed the rubber hose fill tube and looking down the tube opening looks like there is a blockage of some type of metal. I guess I just could be looking at part of the inside of the tank but it is stopping gas from going into the tank.
I have removed the vapor line also and when I blow into it, it seems like I'm pressurizing the fuel tank.
The vapor tube is open.
Is there a check valve at the end of the filler pipe? I'm talking about the pipe that is welded to the top of the gas tank and not any of the rubber hoses. They are all off.
I have been fighting this for two days and it about has the best of me.
I'm old, I'm tired, my body aches and I smell like gas. Good thing I don't smoke anymore.
Anybody have any ideas as I'm all out.
Far from an expert, but one of the truck sections talked about having an inner fill pipe -- maybe it somehow got kinked ( if you have one).
Not sure what you removed, but I'm guessing that you're in for removing the filler pipe down to the tank. Some neighborhood kids shoved apples into mine once -- that was on a car where I could easily access everything -- I'm sure yours is a PITA.
Hopefully one of the smarter guys will check in soon.
I've got an 88 E-350 motorhome, and the fuel filler is just a hose with nothing in it that goes into the top of the tank. You might be able to get you hands on top of the tank to remove the filler hose without having to drop the tank. There is room up there, but it's slow going because of the tight quarters. Lowering the tank is not that difficult,as I had to replace the sending unit float.
