Cat back system

Alright Ive got a 2005 Tuscany FTX with a non-intercooled roush super charger. I am planing on getting one of Mr. Troyer's tunes however tuscany got there cat back system from a company that dosnt even have a webpage. I was told I need to give Troyer all of the mods so that they can give me a good tune, and I would bet it would be easyer to just get a new catback system when i get a pair of headers. What would you all recomend for catbacks for my truck? Well thanks again guys

I was talking to Mike Troyer yesterday for quite some time yesterday. He said he did some dyno testing with the MBRP system and said the numbers pleasantly surprised him. As is often the case with an exhaust, some systems give you a gain on the top with a loss of torque on the bottom, or visa versa. He said the MBRP system had gains across the entire RPM range.

I don't have MBRP on my Roushcharged F150 (Roush exhaust with Dynatech long tube header). I do, however, have MBRP duals on my Powerstroke and the quality is top notch and so is the sound.

I recommend you ask Troyer for a recommendation. He doesn't recommend anything he hasn't seen dyno results for. Some of the products many users recommend he can vouch for, others he'll tell you where they do and don't gain power, and which actually lose power. If you get him on the phone (hard, because he's so busy be prepared to set aside some time because he's going to tell you a lot about various F150 exhausts. If you get one of his employees you can trust their recommendations... all knowledgeable folks.

I live in Texas. So I guess a Troyer tune is out of the question? Are there any good one around here?

You can get mail order tunes from Troyer, the man knows his stuff. He has one of the fastest stock block Lightnings around. He sends the tuner, you load the file and then datalog the truck according to his instruction sheet. Email the data logs and he emails back updated tunes. Don't base your tune on who's closest to you. If you want the best tuning it does require dyno time.... but just because someone has a dyno doesn't make them good. I used to do Lightning tuning, but that was some time ago and the refinement of tuning keeps getting better.

Nothing near that much. I believe he charges a little more than the $379 "canned tuned" MSRP for his custom tunes. If you tell them you are from Ford-trucks.com they give a discount (make sure you give them your exact user name because they validate it). I'm not sure of their current pricing, but I know they've sold them for $379 with custom tuning in the past as part of a special.

One thing to be warned about. Mike has tuned more F150s than anyone else in the business. He is in extreme demand. You'll get your tuner with the canned tunes fast, but it may take a month after you email him the data logs before you get the custom tunes. Mike and I, once competitors, have become pretty good friends and I've spent a lot of time at his shop over the past 3 years. I've see stacks of custom tune orders on his desk 4 inches thick.

Alright i geuss i will just have to get ahold of him one of these days and see what he recomends. I plan on getting the dynatech long tubes too, I have a feeling that the headers, a new catback, and a tune will be well worth it. Well thanks once again
