possible engine swap

are there only sertain 7.3 s , that you can install in my truck.to buy a used engine do the vin # have to jive for a smooth change over.

Any PSD from 94.5 to 97 will drop right in. The 99-03's can be used but there will be some things that will need to be changed over.
