Clubs

Well I signed up with yet another online club.. Stacy Davids GEARS TV Show... That make 6 4x4 clubs, 1 Ford truck clubs, and 3 TV show related clubs. (I signed up for one to get Duane's "Hoss" Tricked).... This month is also the 13th aniversary of my Email address. (they grow up so fast!!)

Who would have thought that I would have made so many dear lifelong friends from doing a parts search online and stumbling on this club, and a few other clubs I belong to as well have some great friends.

I have a story from my Cousin... He broke all the rules.. He bought a car online, site unseen, from Dallas, didn't have a family member drive it, and to top it off he put it on his credit card. The family thought he was nuts, and new it was just going to blow up before he got home. But he drove that Taurus for years.. (I guess he didn't break ALL the rules.. it was a ford :-))

So how has the internet changed your life?????? 10-13 years ago where you aware of the net, did you use it. For you is it a tool or a toy -- both?? I know someone who got a letter saying the net was evil... until she got pics of her grandkids online. Now she sends junk emails, forwards, and those annoying little "little timmy has cancer, if you send this to 9 million people your zits will clear, those school loan guys won't find you, and that little rash will clear up in 10 minutes" SPAM!!!! I feel the net is a double edged sword.. it has as much hurtful, as well as helpfull stuff. UUUUGGGH!

(Al Gore You need not respond hahahahaha!!!)

I have to agree, the world has changed alot over the years, when I was a kid I had an old Comodore 64 and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. My folks bought me a book on how to make your own programs (i.e. enter hundreds of lines of code for a silly little game), I kinda grew out of the computer thing for a long time and got into cars. Then I discovered the net and very shortly after this site, and from that point on is when it all changed. Now we are at the point where I literally cannot do my job without computers and the net.

Comadope 64 was my first puter too. I got pretty good at writing programs on it, but nothing that ever did me any good.
I don't know if its good or bad, but I know I am addicted to the internet.

I know that life would be a lot less quality with out this (Yous guys) group of people in my life.

I hate spam, but sure like most of the jokes and other stuff that comes to my email.

Lots of good info, plus its a great way to get in contact with people you haven't seen for a long time, or keep in touch with friends, a great source for music, entertainment, knowledge, and etc...

haven't had too many bad experiences on the net, cept when I used to download music, before I was informed that it was illegal, the stuff that I downloaded wasn't always what it was advertised, there was the occasion that there was stuff I shouldn't have seen, or was better off not seeing, or hearing, some people put some pretty sick stuff on there.

When I was a kid we would steal a few matches and find some wood and a blanket and send smoke signals.

When I was in college most folks still used slide rules(do you younger folks even know what that is?) and only the engineering students might have a pocket calculator. Early Texas Instruments.

If you wanted to talk to someone and they weren't next to you, you got on the pay phone or home phone and dialed them up. The only other options were what we now call "snail mail" or send a telegram.

Ok that doesn't make much sense either but it has been 30+ years since scouts- is my spacing off?

Well according to this chart http://www.arar93.dsl.pipex.com/mds9...code_table.jpg

That's what it says... Although I think the last part is "this for nothing" what am I boiling for nothing?

"Boil?" Is that something to do with that thing that has been bothering Tony for a while when he sits down?

My spacing must be a little off. It says "white trucks rule and red trucks drule" or some read it as "So I learned this for nothing"
