I bought a truck last month with the drive train all in tact minus motor and bed for 300 bucks. Found it on Craigs List in Kansas city Missouri. It had a FE series C6/NP205 Dana 60 Front and Rear with the Big lock outs.

I imagine I stole it at that price.

At any rate I have a Divorced 205 now as well because it was laying in the front floor board. You still looking for one? I'm going to bust this one down later this week to see if it is any good or needs some work.

I can't tell from the pic, but do you have the full Rhino grille setup. I've got a couple setups lying around here, I've got a good set that I plan on keeping, and fairly rusty grille that just needs to be rechromed, but the vents are in great condition. PM me if you need something.
I like the utility topper too well to get a soft top. besides I think the hard top would be more practical for a daily driver. No, i don't have the rhino grille. Let me know what it would take to get that spare set from you.

yes you STOLE it at that price. the front dana 60 would sell for almost $1000.00 alone. I do still need a NP205 but I think I'm going to have to go with a Chevy or Dodge transfercase because I already have a Chevy dana 60 front for it.

Code 53 is a Dana, 3.54 or 4.56 for a earlier model. I can't find a 53 code for a 85 model. If that's a drain plug on the back cover, it's definitely a Dana.

Well you would not want this one anyways. I busted it apart tonight. I am not even sure it is fit for scrap metal.

As soon as I find out where the wife hid the camera I will post a pic. I about fell over laughing when i got it apart.

I ripped the front end and rear end out as well as the C6 and Transfer Case. Those are going to be part of a 78 250 4x4 I'm going to start on as soon as i get this 86 150 4x4 out of the way.

It looks to be either a Dana 60 or Dana 70. One quick way you can tell is where the brake plates bolt on. If the axle tube necks down a little bit, it's a Dana 60. If the axle tube is one consistent diameter it's a Dana 70.

There is also a casting mark on the lower corner of the center section and it will either be cast as 60 or 70.

Sweet rig BTW. I wish I had one of those!

I always thought that all of the duallys with Dana axles are 70's. I don't think I've ever seen a dually dana 60.

Thanks .... it'll be different, that's for sure.

Unfortunately were getting about 4 inches of snow tonight so it'll be a day or so before I crawl under the motorhome again to check the axle tubes or for a casting mark.

PS. Thanks to all for the quick and informative reply's. This forum is great, I feel like I'm sneaking in here with my project not being an actual Ford truck. I guess using a 460 has to count for something. You guy's rock !
