Finally got the pictures posted of the bed and tailgate finished.
That is it for this year. May get different wheels but no interior at this time.

That looks good, and should weather well. Did you mill the edges for the bed strips? What about the material thickness, I only see the 1" thick stuff? What was the total cost for the deck wood?

Yes the boards are 5&1/2" wide. The holes in the bed are 6&1/8" so we made a spacer out of cedar and then routed the edges to let the strip drop down on the strips. Drilled holes thru the spacers and put fender washers under the strips with the lock washers and bolts. The side strips were added to try and hide some of the 50 years of use on the bedsides.
I paid $120 for three 20' boards and cut three pieces out of each board. Stuff works up really easy and looks good I think. No maintenance required. Not stock but good for me.

Thanks for the info, I am still thinking this through. I may use marine plywood but don't know if it will hold up to the weather.

Mid Fifties for $100 bucks. Stainless is a lot more. Mine is for driving. I want it to look nice but it isn't a show truck. It is for fun for me.
