Can someone help me out on the recommended dually tire pressure. If my rear axle carries 6400# total, each tire would carry 1600#. For 235Rx85x16 tires, the chart I’m using states to use between 35-40 psi. That sounds pretty low? Am I reading the chart correctly?
Use what pressure they show on your door jam sticker. Unless the tires are different than OEM. If that is the case I would go about 5-10 psi less than the max inflation value of the tire. What are you putting in your bed that weighs over 3 tons?
No! I'm not putting 3+ tons in the bed. I'm using a 3000# slide-in camper that brings the total rear axle load to 6400# (camper and truck). Max tire pressure is 80#. According to the chart, if all four tires were at 70-75#, it would be way too much air. I'm just trying to see what other dually owners at running when their trucks are near max capacity. I'm trying to get as smooth a ride as possible while maintaining load capacity.
