Hi guys, its been a very long time since i have been on. I have been very busy working on my 66. I dont remeber where i left off so i will list all thats been done. I rebuild the drivers side and passenger side of the hinge pillars. replaced the right rocker, cab corner, inner cab corner, left and right kick panels, firewall, and now in the process of replacing the drivers side floor pan and cab mount. I have the floor and mount welded in i just need to grind the spot welds and hit a few spots again. I also just need to do the welds along the firewall to the cab mount. Heres a link to the gallery that my pictures are on. I hope to get to the passenger side over the thanksgiving week end. Once the floors are in then the hardest part of the project is over. Justin, talk about a major project, what an outstanding job. Bookmarked your gallery for future reference, really appreciate owners who take a vintage vehicles, 1 step removed from the bone yard, repair them and put them back on the road. Looks like the youngster in your gallery is getting an early introduction to the automotive scene as well, how cool! Thanks for the update, and pic's. Oh by the way, the comment under your signature regarding parts, how true.
Justin, Fantastic job...I second what Dave said regarding fixing up an all but rotted away piece and spending the time, money and effort to putting it back together...I always thought though that SD trucks survived fairly well....
Definately keep the pics coming...are you going back to original in the end or ???
Thanks guys. The truck used to be my grandpas. Every weekend i would sit by the window and wait for it to come down the road. We would go fishing, well my brother said what i did was eat more than fish. I plan on taking it back to the original condition with just a few minor changes. The aftermarket AC unit grandpa had in it is just too big to fit three people so thats coming out and i will probably get vintage air. Thanks again Justin
