I have yet another sending unit question. I'm putting in an autometer trans temp gauge and I've read on here where a couple people put a sending unit on the rear diff and used a switch to switch between trans and rear diff.
I'm going to do this as well. Almost all of the threads on here about rear diff temp senders talk about using the mag hytec cover with the built in port.
Does anyone have any pictures or info about welding a 1/8 NPT adapter into the original diff cover? I think this is how I'll have to do it at least for now.
As long as it's below the level of the fill plug, I think you're good. What exact pointers are you looking for? Where to put it?
Yeah, I think maybe a pic of one installed would do the trick. I'm guessing its probably pretty obvious once the cover is off and I'm looking at the gears.
I guess as long as its in the oil and not hitting anything it will be fine.
