Has your truck been broken into? Any alarm or remote start in the truck?
I'd start with the wiggle test. Turn the key off, then get down in the floorboard and reach up under the dash. Look for and wiggle any wires that are around the steering column.
If you don't have luck there, I'd pull the plastic column cover off the steering column and check the wires in there, and also pay attention to the little piece that sticks out the back side of the ignition switch.
To pull the column cover, remove the 3 phillips head screws from the bottom side of the cover. Unscrew the tilt lever, then the bottom half of the cover will unsnap from the upper half and come off. Then grab a small pick or screwdriver, turn the key to the ON position, push in the little indent pin (looks like a ball bearing) underneath the key switch, and slide the ignition switch out. You can now remove the top half of the column cover and take a look around.
ok it started about 3 days ago truck died been hard to start so ive replaced the glowplug relay fuel filter and ignition switch now i pulled the fuse to stop it from running now it wont start at all oh and i changed the fuel pump relay please help 2000 ford f350 7.3 deisel
Which fuse did you pull (and what year is your truck), and did it blow the fuse when you pulled it? I'm not so sure the hard to start and won't turn off issues are related. Sounds like we're chasing 2 different issues.
Any clicking or dash lights acting funny when you try and start the truck? Oil level full and oil in good condition? Any smoke out the tailpipe while you're trying to crank it?
the abs and airbag light stay on even with key off i checked the fuse i pulled to stop motor it is good im getting code p0671 thru p0678 and po2 something that says fuel pump secondary curcuit low

I am leaning in this direction. Why did you replace the switch? I think your problem is here.
