The choke cable stem is broken off under the dash on my 49 Ford F1 1/2 ton pickup. So, when I need to use it, I have to reach under the dash and hold the cable to to set the choke. No real big deal, but I would like to fix it. Dennis Carpenter sells the *****, but not the actual cable. I am looking for a source for the cable body.
Anyone know were I might buy one.
I have not attempted to take the thing apart, but expect that like the key switch the bezel just pops off and the cable **** screws off the end of the cable and then the cable body just goes out through the hole in the dash.
I can't say for sure on youe '49 but most choke cables have a nut screwed on from the back side holding them in. If you can get your head under there take a look or try with a mirror. Screw the nut off and pull the complete assembly out.
