i have the panel off to get to the radio and ac/heat controller, but the lights and wipers are the only things hindering me from completely removing the panel, is there a way to get this off? or do you just have to have it there as a nuisance.
You have to pull pretty hard on the **** for the windshield wipers, and the headlight has a botton that has to be depressed to release the entire shaft from the switch. You will have to reach behind the dash and feel for the back side of the entire switch for a small button. Depress it while you pull the **** and you will end up with the entire shaft in your hand. Once all the screws for the surround have been removed, you can take everything apart.
Lots of luck.
75's got the headlight switch part right, the whole **** and shaft come out
after you hold down on the button at the back-top of the switch housing. :)
The windshield wiper **** comes off the shaft real nice and easy if you pull
the tab (spring sheet steel) that's wedging/pinching the shaft. :)
I'll have to try that. One of my winter projects is to take the original AM radio out and put in a period correct AM/FM and replace the broken off antana.
