retarded? I have a degree in Engineering Physics and a degree in Electrical Engineering.

all this $$? I have lots of it. Do you?

real wheeling? If you went "wheeling" with me you would need a barf bag. Of course I would never invite you.

Why don't you save all this energy for the trail and just focus in on answering my question - everything I've heard so far I'm aware of. Put all of your wheeling intelligence together and shed some new light in on the subject that I might not be aware of.

Baja Belteds are great sand and snow tires. if you do all the cross over steering stuff your truck should steer just fine, even better if you go with hydro assist. my friend has 39.5 Belteds on his Ram Charger and those things hum louder than my TSL's, but they last a pretty long time and are good for the sand. i think your truck will look and perform great.

,

I was the US National Monster Truck Racing Champion before you were even in Jr. High, done R&D for a major Off-Road race shock manufacturer, written several Tech Articles for TruckworldOnline, and designed and built more off-road racing chassis than you have crayons in you lunch box. What have you done? You couldn't "inform" me of jack if you tried other than possibly how low the acceptance standards to A&M must have gotten.

As far as going ‘Off-Road' with 39 M/Ts, down here by the beach we have this thing call sand. You may have heard of it. When you take your "BigRedFord" up in the dunes with your 33-35 crawler tires, you'll be looking for one of us to pull your buried sorry butt out. Don't count on it.

FYI, taking your truck down to 4Wheel Parts and getting some shocks bolted on and throwing on some tires does not constitute "Building a Trailable Rig". It constitutes buying some parts. Again, when you design and build tube chassis with 30"+ wheel travel you can call yourself a builder. Right now you are just a wannabe.

And finally, here is what I know about A&M from my visits and friends who graduated from there some of which were in the Corps. They are mature respectful productive assets to society. You on the other hand do not represent yourself as such. But hey, at least you can put down that you attended A&M on your application at Burger King.

Hope I didn't sound arrogant in my earlier post, and I didn't mean to **** anyone off. I really have FUN with my truck off road... that's what it's all about!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Jul-02 AT 07:00 PM (EST)]well congratu-friggin-lations overkill. I hope your proud of yourself for all your accomplishments. You might think you're hot stuff b.c. you ran over a bunch of cars in a truck specifically designed for entertainment of a crowd, but thats not really the type of wheeling i'm referring to, which i would hope you're smart enough to have figured that out. I never said you dont know anything about tech stuff, and never did i say i knew more than you. Nothing on my truck was bought @ 4wheel parts, its just that from your list of "mods" it sounds like YOU dropped YOUR truck off there and said "Surprise me!!" I've done all my own work on my truck with the exception of rebuilding the tranny. I do what I can with the resources I have. I'm sorry I dont have all the $$ in the world to buy a welder, torch, bender, SHOP, any cool parts i could ever dream of having, etc, etc...but i guess you do. The point I really wanted to get across in the beginning was that the $$ can be spent better elsewhere than a truck thats never going to see any kind of real off roading. whatever tickles your pickle i guess.

As for anything you think you know about A&M, BACK OFF. None of your other BS is pissing me off, but i take that personally. None of you know anything about me, so quit trying to act like you do. I have plenty that I can contribute to other users w/o someone starting *****. As for A&M, it is one of the best engineering schools in the nation and I am REALLY proud of the fact that I go there. maybe someday, after i graduate, i'll be as cool as you, you're my hero. as i've said before, right now i'm just a poor college student trying to pay my own way in everything i do, but when i have the $$ to do my own stuff like you suggest, i'm going to do it differently than you. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please call me 512.468.1604, no more ***** on this board. I'm done.

steering with 39's?

hahaha i must've missed a lot in here... been busy. well in retrospect, technically i DID answer the original question that this thread started with (ad that led to overkill starting all this talkin )..... i just didn't answer ALL the questions that were asked. i told him that in my experiences it would ride kinda #####ty and not be worth the trouble on a nice street ride. as for cross over steering and high steer being the same, if i am not mistaken you can change knuckles that will allow the steering components to sit a little higher with out using the advantages of crossover. as for Wheeling.... i think your idea of off road is somewhat different than ours- you jump sand dunes and race... we prefer crawling and trail rides. as to who ever mentioned the barf bag- well we've run moab, las cruces, tellico and clayton... where are you wheeling that is so much harder than these places... you oughtta tell ppl about it so they'll quit going to these other OFF ROAD MECCAs. just bc i'm from tx doesn't make me some redneck hillbilly who runs dual antannas off my toolbox and has cooper mud tires on my 81 2wd ch#vy diesel. as for your tires, there are others out there you could use besides mickeys... sand or no sand, mickey thompsons are the ABERCROMBIE & FITCH of tires... they are overpriced and just a name... thats why you see em on show trucks like yours overkill... yeah your truck is nice, but for real wheeling (crawling) its too nice. 4wheel parts- LMFAO- 4wheel parts... thats where i'd go to buy mickeys. before christmas i HOPE to have a respectable trail rig- solid d44 with agr rock ram steering, 10" eb coils, ford 9", both detroit'd, 4.56'd, dana 300 t case and a 5.0L under the hood. thats my rig.. the onboard laptop and all that if i need to e mail someone i do it from home...
like bigred said- nobody questioned your $$ or knowledge... just your IDEA of off road as opposed to ours... and before you go slingin again... you started this whole mess... so don't try to point the finger at others in regards to maturity levels. there was no need for the "since adam didn't ....," bc technically adam did.

adam nix
