Yep, the 205 was last factory installed in 79. That said, pretty much any married pickup transfer case will interchange. Ford used the same bolt pattern and shaft size/spline count on all it's transfer cases 80-97 inclusive, no matter what transmission it is behind,
Thanks for the info guys.
I'm doing a dual transmission on my yota rockcrawler. the stock yota tranny + NP435 + NP205 + stock diffs = 220:1 crawl ratio....
So are you guys using a divorced np205? I have been thinking about doing that with my 2wd f350 dump truck just for the low range. I have a 351w slightly built/ c6 and 4.10 gears and sometimes on the job sight I need lower gearing to get in tight spots. It's a long wheelbase truck so I have plenty of room to mount up a divorced case, plus a friend has one I can get free(not sure what model) I'd love to see some pics of some divorced cases and how they're mounted or a link to an install.
2 transmissions is not the way to go and doesn't make any sense. How could you possibly shift the NP435? Plus, it's huge and very heavy.
If you want, run a doubler. An NP203 range box bolted to an NP205.
That is the best setup.
Sorry but I doubt you are very serious based on your lack of knowledge on the subject, plus the fact that you mentioned "stock diffs" and rock crawler in the same sentence.
They (stock differentials) won't last 2 minutes on the rocks.
