how do i figure out how much my speedo is off from having 305/45/22 wheels on?? it doesnt seem like its to far off but i know it isnt rite, the OD of the tires are like 32.6" ruffly. i bought the hypertech programmer to correct it only to find out you cant do it with a programmer on a 97
Your speedo and odo will read low by 3.7%. The new combination has a circumference of 102.99", the truck is calibrated for a circumference of 99.25". Your new diameter is 32.8"
3.7% isnt much, so the faster i go the more its off rite? 2 main speedlimits i try to keep withing range is 25&40mph cause there the speedlimits on the roads i travel on a normal basis that are regular radared by cops
Depending on how tightly you watch your intervals for fluid changes, they will be off also. When your odometer says 3,000 you will have gone 3,111 miles.
Always, is there a webb site that tells you the changes to your fluids? I found one that only tells you how off your speedo is. I didn't know that the tire size also affects other items.
Not that I know of, I just did the math based on the two tire sizes we were talking about. Everything the car counts is based on rpm's, so changing the rolling diameter will throw off the counting process.
