I owe a huge Thanks to Scott (crum71). He gave me a set of 40/20/40 seats out of an '05.
Before
And After
There is one hole left in the headliner on each side where the seat belts used to go. Anybody got any ideas what I could put here to cover them? Also there is a bare spot on the floorboard on each side where the seat belts used to go. Any ideas on what to cover this with? I had to add a hot wire to the harness with the seat belt sensor for the 6 way power seat. All in all, removing the bench seat, cleaning the floor, wiring up the new seat, bolting everything down, and cleaning up took about 2 hours. Thanks for all of you're help. Thanks again to Scott for these seats, I owe you big time.
Do these stain that easy? If water is bad on them, copenhagen will kill 'em .
Nah, thats what steam cleaners are for when that inevitable spill happens. Although make sure when your getting a dip to wipe your fingers on your lower jeans leg, and not the seat. For those few little fresh pieces that fall in your lap, or the seat, let them dry before wiping off the seat. Cope is moist, and will stain when fresh, but if its dry it'll sweep right down to the floor(to be swept out or vacuumed later) and wont cause little skid marks. Been there done that.
Also those little cup holders in the arm rest, are the perfect size to get a can stuck in, use the cubby in the dash for storage.
i have been wanting to upgrade the seats in my truck, but i came to the realization that i will probably just be upgrading the whole thing in a few years.
Just out of curiosity, what did it take to wire up the seats?
I just added a switched wire from the fuse box under the dash. I cut the factory connector off my truck and hooked up the new connector that came with the seat. Both connectors are the same, except that the one for the power seat has 3 wires and the non power seat connector just has 2. I hooked the factory wires to the new connector just like they were, and I added the hot wire for the seat to the remaining green wire in the connector. Thanks to Zack for the info on the wiring. BTW. I think that factory power seats aren't switched.
Those look very good in there. Im not sure, but do you have any idea with the 05' headliner will fit ? Is so, I will see if he has one still...If not, just measure and let me know. And as for the floor part, Im not sure about that one. Will look around and see if I can come up with anything
