I change fuel filter then you been wright all the time fuel filter not full half after i'm live open cap and the fuel pump very hard pumping fuel so i think problem is in fuel line.OK thank you Adam
It sounds like you've either got a bad fuel pump or a restriction in the tank. If you know you've put some very dirty fuel in your tank, you'll probably need to drop the tank to clean things up.
You can start by disconnecting the fuel line off the back of the fuel pump, sticking a short hose on the back of the pump and dip it into a bucket of good fuel. Turn the key on and see if the pump does well pulling fuel from the bucket. If it pumps good from the bucket, then it's time to drop the tank.
You'll need to check the screens in the mixing chamber to see if they're clogged up.
Sounds like you're making good progress then. If you get the chance, take some pictures of what you find inside the tank, and how dirty the screens are before you clean them up. Pictures like that help others understand what to look for.
Did you go ahead and do the in tank mods like in this link? Click me
If you're worried about air getting trapped in the fuel line when you try and put it all back together, there's nothing you can do about that. You can keep the air from getting to the engine if you just turn the key to on until you hear the fuel pump stop. Then turn the key off for 10 seconds, and back on again until it shuts off. Do this 4 or 5 times. What this will do is pump the air and fuel through the filter and back into the tank so that your lines are full of fuel again.
To make things easier, leave the fuel line unhooked from the back of the fuel pump and siphon the fuel from the tank through the fuel line. Once you've got fuel coming out of the line, hook it to the pump then cycle the key. That should get you fixed up.
I clean mixer that dont help then i blow air thru the fuel line from fuel pump to tank this i think help truck start i need one front tank clamp and plastic snap conect fuel line on back fuel pump somebody where i cant find that parts
The snap connect fitting leaks air in anyway. You can buy a clip at the local auto parts store that doesn't look anything like the original one, but it does work. If you need to know what the clip looks like, ask to see a fuel pump for your van. It should have the clips included in the package. then just go to the little help section and find clips that look like that.
Otherwise, cut the flared end off the line and use a hose clamp to connect the line to the back of the fuel pump.
The way I put pictures in a thread is add them to my gallery. If you click on User CP in the upper left corner of the page, it will take you to your control panel. On the left hand side of that page, click on Edit Gallery. From there, you should be able to load pictures from your computer to your gallery.
If you can get the pictures in your gallery, let me know, and I'll tell you how to put them in these threads.
