A torque wrench has settings that tell you how tight the bolt is when you put it back in. You'll need 2 different ones. One for in-lbs and another for ft-lbs. The items circled in red are the rocker arm pedestal bolts (20 lb-ft). The bolt circled in blue is your injector hold down bolt (120 lb-in). This picture just happens to be of the #4 with the circles on it.
The VSS is the cause of your OD light flashing. It can also cause your speedometer to quit working, but will not have an effect on the #4 cylinder or the white smoke.
So i should buy fuel injector from dealer or aftermarket is some difrent repair the rest seven like berings and glow plug replace too what your recomendtion thanks. Last time i had some problem with hole in that pipe from exhaust pipe and the same problem dies when hot air go inside the system
I prefer new injectors to rebuilt ones. You don't have to get them from the dealer. Look online for Alliant Power. Find a place near you that sells Alliant injectors. When I had a bad injector in one of my work trucks, I just replaced the 1 bad one and left the other 7 alone.
I live in a warm climate, so we don't use glow plugs as much as some do. I left the glow plugs alone, but it wouldn't hurt to replace the ones on that side as long as you have the valve cover off.
I agree with Brandon. I would guess IPR which should be able to be monitored with a good scanner. I don't know how to test an overheating IDM if it doesn't throw a code.
The contribution fault and white smoke is why you should replace the bad injector. It's not the reason your van is dying. You can unplug all 4 injectors on one side and the motor will still run, so you've got more than one issue going on here.
White smoke .When i start last time lot a white smoke, this truck loss power when you going up to hill.I need scanner to buy. When i turn ignition loud sound maybe fuel pump is broken or fuel line.I know for sure fuel be very dirt.OK i trying turn couple time ignition after dies and start faster sound like clock in fuel line.
Have you checked for blowby when the engine is running?
With engine running, remove oil fill cap and look for steady stream of light smoke. If the smoke is coming out in strong PUFF,PUFF,PUFFs then you may have a bad piston.
If your fuel is really dirty then that could cause a clog in the fuel pump, and it could also clog an injector.
No any smoke on oil cap if you live truck on parking been running is always happen after 2-5 miles drive.Pump running to loud sound like clog on fuel line.If been not enough fuel in injector then this comes with white smoke.Thank you Adam
I'd go ahead and change the fuel filter. If the fuel is really dirty, you may have clogged the screens inside the fuel tank, but those usually present a problem when your on the accelerator, not when the truck is at idle.
If you wan to check the fuel issue, see if you can get it to stall in your driveway. As soon as the engine stops, turn the key off, then check the fuel filter bowl to see if it's empty or still full of diesel.
