E40D Question, shift slipping
I'm looking at a used 2WD, 1990 7.3, automatic with a Banks Sidewinder. I think I can get it for the value of the turbo kit (and flowmaster exhaust). I haven't driven it yet, but the owner tells me it is starting to slip on the 1-2 shift. It has about 250K kms (150K miles).
On spec, is there any easy check or adjustment to sort out the tranny short of rebuild ?
In other words, how can I check for codes or adjustments. I've never had an E40D.
Do you know if the transmission has been modified for the turbocharger and increaced output? I would take if for a drive anyway to see how 1-2 compares to the other shifts.
