Depends on what year your truck is. I am pretty sure 99-01 have Dana 50 and 02+ have dana 60. If I am wrong, someone will chime in.

That sounds right. I remember Kris saying the 01 guys got screwed with PMR instead of forged and the Dana 50's upfront instead of the 60's

Dana 60s have more aftermarket support than the dana 50. The dana 50 was only used by ford, I think. Dana 60s were used by pretty much all 3/4 ton trucks that had 4X4 and a strait axle.

Yep. They switch to the Dana 60 was during the '01 model year. Some got the 50 and others got the 60. That's also when the did the switch to PMR pistons in the 7.3.

I think the ring gear is a tad larger in the 60 and the shafts are a bit beefier too.

The shafts are the same size, the 50 models inner shafts just narrow just before going into the smaller spline spider gear in the d50 carrier. If you have any doubt about your axle, you can compare your BOM number to this list I made, or go and use Dana's "The Expert" and search it there. I cant remember the spline count difference anymore between the d50 and d60.

EDIT: now that I looked at your gallery, you say you have an 2000. Which is a d50, unless dually.
