I have a 2004 Ford in 150 truck. The other day I noticed a picture of the engine came on on the dashboard. I look at code up in my manual and it talks about the emissions system. I used a diagnostics computer and hooked it into the truck to look up the air or codes. I received an error code P0059, p2197, p0153. These codes refer to bank 2 sensor 1. My question is where can I find information on this sensor and how to replace it? Is this an problem that will cause my truck to stop running? Can this damage my truck?
That would be the sensor on the right hand side(sitting in the drivers seat) closest to the engine block.
The o2 sensor regulates fuel air ratio, so you might foul plugs and possibly make your valves not seat right. (carbon build up)(not sure about that one tho)
The big one thought is that your mpg will be all jacked up from the computer trying to compensate for the out of wack sensor.
To replace cut, splice, solder , and shrink wrap it.
