We are of like mind, I have always lusted for a COE and also love panel trucks, why not combine the two? I never did see one that looked quite right though. Some of the crew cabs with suicide doors are cool. By the time you graft a COE onto a regular panel most look like some caricature of a cartoon vehicle. Then I saw the solution. A 1946 COE bus, not a short bus but back then the regular buses were not that long. Trouble is, it was a Chevy, but it gave me the idea. Proportionally it would be just the right size (IMHO).
I could not get the direct link to work but here is the site, click on the 1946 COE Chevy. http://www.oldbus.us/Gallery/SchoolBuses/Chevrolet/tabid/61/Default.aspx
Finding a similar Ford 1946-47) would be next to impossible, making one out of two (COE and stock bus) very difficult; plus to make it look perfect it ought to be chopped just a couple of inches.
Lets see if my lottery numbers match anything.
This is exactly what I want that is just a very interesting truck. Is it yours and did it come that way or did you build it. Thanks so much for the post.

Thats cool but the bus makes me think of the Jeepers Creepers van just more room to put the bodies. BTW they made parts of the movie here in Eustis some friends of mine had to transport the stunt man to the hospital for a injury.
I've been looking for many moons now for just the right '56 C series truck. Here's one on uPaY that I'm passing on now that I've seen the updated photos showing the condition of the body. eBay Motors: Vintage 1955 Ford C-500 truck (item 130269258578 end time Nov-25-08 06:52:36 PST)
there's another about 15 miles from my house that I can never catch the guy at home to talk to him. next time, I'm just leaving a note on his windshield of his daily...

No, the truck isn't mine, but I do like the looks of it. That truck has been sold and resold. Look at the different license plates in both pictures. About a year or two ago, I saw the truck for sale in the Good Guys Gazette. It was there for a long time. I subsequently saw it listed on eBay afterwards. The seller posted additional photos of the truck, including the interior. As I remember, there wasn't much leg room due to the interior engine hump.
I haven't seen the truck after it's been sold anywhere on the internet.
