hi all, my lock **** on the drivers side looks like the o-ring is coming out from behind the handle, it still works but it gets bound up some times. any com. prob. with this??
Spray the O ring with WD40 and while turning the hub lock **** work the O ring back into the hub. You may need to gently push it back in with a screwdriver. Spray the WD40 all around the hub in the space between the outter hub housing and the ****. This happened to me before and I was able to work the O ring back into the hub.
Wouldn't the WD work it's way in and liquefy the grease???
The area directly behind the dial is sealed from the internal hub workings with a heavy rubber type of diaphragm so it can't get in there to affect the grease.
I am beginning to beleive that WD-40 will most likely cause the o-ring to swell and cause more problems later though.
I guess it's possible for the O ring to swell. I've never had a problem after spraying some WD40 in there to get the O ring back into position. Perhaps a different type of lube could be used to keep the O ring from sticking to the lock ****.

The only issue I have with WD-40 is it acts like a dirt magnet and allows all that grime to get in and on the hubs. Not sure if it caused my OEM's to die a slow death but I didn't like the crud it attracted. My .02 cents.
