So as far has the common problems (ball joints, some electronic stuff, etc...), shoud I bring up the common problems and asked if they have been serviced or if anything is starting to go bad? If something needs to be fixed, is that an easy argument to get the dealer to lower the price, or should I tell them I want it fixed if I buy the vehicle?

Have them do whatever you want them to. You will probably come out better, money wise, to get them to lower the price and do the stuff yourself. (Or your own mechanic.)
Dealer sold the X I wanted..................Oh well, I'll keep looking and I know the same deal (if not better) will pop up. Thanks for everyone's help!
That's okay, I acutally found a few 2000's and '01's within 300 miles of me. Nicest one I found is a 2000 V10 with 127K miles, but the dealer wants too much ($8300). Time to start talkin to 'em. If I don't end up gettin an X, I'm also looking at a 1986-1986 6.9 diesel truck, they're cheap and reliable
One of the issues the V-10 and 5.4 has is the plugs blowing out of the head. Many dealers won't tell you the threads can be retapped and a replacement plug used.
