Power Brake Drums Question...

If I wanted to keep the drum brakes in my 1960 F100 but add a power brake booster and a dual master cylinder, what components should I use? In the past on another vehicle, I upgraded from the single manual master cylinder to the '67 Mustang manual drum master cylinder. Should I just buy these components for this upgrade as well, but with a power booster, too?

Thanks.

The photos of the 1967 drum/drum power unit on Advance Auto Parts Website looks like the most likely candidate but I just wanted to see if anyone out there had any other ideas. BTTT

I used Disk/Drum from CPP Brakes its located under the 48-56 Ford Trucks (They put the 57-60 Trucks in here as well) They have a Drum/Drum Power Brake Boster part #5760D and Master Cylinder that bolts right up. According to CPP it needs a pop valve look at the info/photo link. BTW is costs $325.00

Its way down under Power Booster Conversion

If you are going with a power booster you do not want to use a manual MC with it. The bore is different and using a manual MC with a booster will make your brakes VERY touchy. I did this once long ago on an old Ford coupe and I could reach down and stop the car with one finger. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS! BELIEVE ME! I think a power MC for drums used with a booster will be fine.

GNW,
Thanks for the tip...It looks like they sell both parts as a set so I'd probably do that. Do I need a proportioning valve or is it all set as is as long as I get the drum/drum setup, as that's what my truck has?

According to the CPP information it doesn't need a proportioning valve. But I would call them to ensure everything is correct for what you want. I am very happy with mine works great and easy to install. Oh and here is another hint get the premade brake lines from the neighborhood parts store or NAPA a lot easier to make work other than buying bulk tube and having to flare the tubing. I was extremly frustrated with the leaks.
