Hey, IMO the lower the better. Novatatoo had a 52 that looked sweet, I dont know what he had for suspension was but was way cool . Do a search for his name and see what his gallery has for pictures. you could only go up from there.
Being low looks cool......but being so low that you can't drive it in normal situations is not cool; thus a static setup that is too low is not good. Airbags will let you have the best of both worlds.
I hate the low look! I did it to my avanti--and regret it. Cannot get a jack under it/cannot drive without hitting the bottom---a real pain. Why lower the truck---if you want tow--buy a Lamborghini!!
OK Do not chew me out---I am just pissed that my car hits bottom even going in the gravel. Oh--the kids at the car shows think it is sooooo low.....but try to work on it. Sorry---having a bad day---go on as you were....LOL
I saw a car one time that had a screw jack permanently mounted to the frame. The guy could flip a switch and the electric jack would lift the car enough to get a proper floor jack under it...I thought that it was a fairly ingenious workaround for the "too low for a floor jack" problem.
My friend once had his truck with a static low drop, once he went to airbags he said he'd never go back. Airbags will get you as low as you want to go, but still make it usable.
I've just done exacly that and posted the howto images as used in 'Custom Car Magazine' here in the UK on one of my galleries. Have a look through as this is what 6inch lower looks like
