I was wondering if anyone has installed these on there trucks? and if so how do you wire them up? My buddy gave me a set today and I was thinking about putting them in my truck if I can figure out how to wire them in.
I put a set in my '02. It was actually super easy to wire in. All I really had to do was swap the couple of existing wires from the C270K plug to the new upfitter plug and splice the violet/orange power wire to the customer access wire (key on power) under the dash. All the fuses and power were already there in my fuse box, but weren't being used. Don't know if your '00 has the same box as mine, but if it does, you won't have any trouble.
I replaced the lower dash panel too, so that's what took me the longest.
Justin's right about the tow command, I haven't heard of any transplants of that.
The guy that gave them to me cut the harness on both of them, its about 4inches from the plug. Is it possible to still wire them in? and also where is the C270K plug ?

THAT SUCKS!!
Yeah, it's still possible. The C270K plug is connected to the back of the fuse box and is white. It's the only white plug back there. If you could find another connector at a salvage yard or even a junk one at Ford that has the same pin connectors (metal pins inside the plug) then you could splice them onto the cut wires and then insert them into the existing plug. You'd have the locations from the link above.
I found a plug at the dealership that had pins with about 6" of wire on each that were exactly the same. The plug wasn't but the pins were. It was in a used box with a bunch of other ones that the parts dept. had in the back. Got lucky and the guy just gave it to me!! Now I've got extras for future add-on's!! Alot of salvage yards cut the wires when removing stuff so you might check around to see if any superduties still have some dash wiring.
Here's the link from when I installed mine. Pics are in post #10:
I agree it does suck, but they were free...... I appreciate it...
