I have recently purchased my first killer truck! It's a 2002 F-250 Super Duty ,reg. cab, Triton V-8, 4X4. It is a very nice truck. Here's the problem...The abs light started coming on when I accelerated and the speedo flicked backwards ( about 30 mph ). Now here the weird part... I pulled up to a stop light coming up an off ramp from a highway, the truck stalled, I started it and it was running really rough. It is still running rough and I can't make the abs light come on and the speedo is fine too! Is it a coincidence or is this something that happens? Please help
The ABS and the speedo problem is most likely caused by a faulty VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which is located on top of the rear differential. It is easy to replace is costs less than $50.
The rough idle could be caused by a carboned up IAC (idle air control) valve. It is located on top of the engine all the way against the firewall. It is a pain to get at but once you remove it it can be cleaned and reinstalled.
To make sure of all of your situations you can bring your truck to a autozone type place and have them read any codes that might be there to verify any problems. Codes are not always thrown though.
very doubtful, but as suggested getting the codes read could help. How many miles are on the truck? Might want to look at changing out the plugs if it is time. If a cyl was truely missing though that should have thrown a code. Just an idea to help.
can someone tell me the firing order or tell me where i can find it. Took the truck to the parts store and code said misfire on cyl 7. It's a 2002 f250 4x4 5.4 automatic tranny.
