well I started with a superchip chip, then a SCT off the shelf tuner, then a bully dog, and now a DP Tuner. Given the experience with all of them, DP is by far superior, hence the few suggestion you have recieved. I have no experience with Tony's tunes, but those that have them really like them as well.
Just in case you don't like any of the 8 choices Barry listed, that Tony Wildman guy can be found up in Cowtown. http://www.totaldieselperformance.com/ If you decide on live tuning to match more mods later on, Tony might be a little easier to meet up with, given your location.
There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.
Yeah, but we all held your hand until you learned.....LOL
I could not as for better guidence!

Yes I do Chris, #2 is true also. #3 I have grabbed a few electric fences as a kid on a dare so that count?
Take a look around their website.(link in my signature) You order according to the year and PCM code of your truck. He has a list of about 40 standard, custom tunes and can pretty much do anything you need if you want something else. His tunes start at Stock and No Start and go up to Custom Truck Pull and Drag Race. His most common tunes for our trucks are Stock, No Start, 60 hp or 80 hp towing, 80 hp Economy, 120 race and maybe 140 extreme. The 80 hp econo is far stronger than anything I ever had with my superchips programmer and would venture to say the same about your edge. The towing tunes will make towing a load fun again and the high HP tunes are just plain insane. The 140 extreme is mostly for rolling some serious smoke at low-end speeds. He has lots of fun tunes like his Lope tune which sounds like a big cammed dragster rolling over, his drivethru tune, which quietens the engine to make ordering easier, or sneaking out of the camp ground. He has a wide choice of idle tunes, a decel tune that uses you EPBV to aid in slowing you down when towing a load and many more. You can click on the link in my signature for pricing and choices. Give Jody or Diane a call and tell them your needs and they will help you decide which tunes you needs. Their new F6 chip allows you to order tunes via email, try them for a while then buy or try some else. The chips will hold up to 16 different tunes, all are switch on the fly. I have the F5 and 6 tunes now and hope to soon get about 4 more. I also hope to see Jody for some live tuning, where he mates your tunes to your truck using real time data.
As far as cost, The sky is the limit. You can start small and add later, spreading the cost over time, or get the F5 fully loaded from the start. Look at the site, give them a call and ask us all the questions you want.
