Alright, you beat me to it, just rec'd the Hemmings email Newsletter. Would be interested in what the more knowledgeable members will have to say, thought crew cab came out in 65 with the 250 swb, and 350 lwb, but what do I know.
Bill, great write up! Been waiting for additional responses, think I will monitor the link for awhile, get some history on the CrewCab. Use to have a link to a vintage crewcab forum but for one reason or another my bookmark lost the web address, or the forum has been discontinued. O well!
just cuz I'm curious... Why haven't we gathered all that much info on crew cabs? I think they're cool, but i like the looks of a standard cab better... just my $.02. still though... a ranger crew cab would be awesome. the mustang seats in front with console and bench in back.
The suicide crew along with a full length upper roof console was planned to use buckets and falcon console in front. Just never finished it as i sold it to finance my move to Arizona.
i came across a 64 crown conversion that was just like that with the stubby box sitting out on some property in utah. 100 bucks says its still there. when i picked up my 65 crew in montana a couple years later we ventured buy the property on the way home and talked with the miss's again and it was still there. next time i head that way again ill probably stop by again and it will be in the same spot
