if ur talkin 12.5s, than it would be no prob, you wont be able to go any farther obviously but im almost positive that they would fit, cause i had a 76, and i put a whole new body on it, and i put the body lift on as i put the body on, than i threw on some 35's, and they seemed to work great. plus, i'm sure you will be happy witht the look of 35's as well
im a pretty small guy, and i had a lot of trouble putting my 79 cab on my 76 chasis, so i had my friend who was like 6 4 250 pounds come over and then we just kinda put the whold truck together. i would play around with the 35's like they were baseballs. the 35's will work
I just got done putting a 79 cab on my 76 chassis. I put on a 3" body lift.
The main reason why this is freaky is because I am a pretty small guy...so I had a friend of mine come over (6'4" 250 lbs.) and we also put the truck together...sound familiar.
right now i have a 360 in it, but i am thinking about putting a 390 in it, but i dont know much about 390s so i'll have to look into it, and i saw your question on mallory vs. msd, and i think you should go with the mallory
My truck originally had a 360 in it...but someone along the way put a 390 in it, and rebuilt the auto. tranny. I loved my 390 (when I could actually drive it) it had a LOT of POWER. I think the 390 is a 360 with a longer throw crank...little more torque, and otherwise they are pretty much the same. Go with the 390!!
ok, u did it. iwill go with the 390, and will probably deck the out it. kinda like my 76 250 with 826 horsepower. (i kinda have the right to brag, you must agree) i suppose the 871 blower helped out alot huh. i look into the 390. thaks.
yeah, i think im gonna sell it though, mainly because i have to go to college next year, and i need the money. plus god knows that i can make another big engine.
