Hi, I have a '00 expedition in need of new tires. I was wanting to upgade with a larger more aggresive tire. I'm curious if a LT 255/80r17 or a LT 285/70r17 will fit without any issues. Any suggestions would be great!
285/70/17 will fit and fills the wheel well up nicely...no rub issues at all....
that was the size of my last set.... rode and looked great, not so great on gas mileage though... but hell...its back down to 2 bucks so go big!
I just put on 325/60/18 and i had to do some trimming on those... but i got it to a point where there is no rub... look at my pics... there is a pic of both sizes i think...
i just put 305/45/22's on mine and i think thats about the max it can go cause its a hair off of scraping at full turn, overall dia of them is just under 33"
yep...33 inch is the max... my new tires are 33.2 by 13 inch wide... i had to ditch my running boards, and had to trim about a quarter inch off my front fender near the bottom. I probably should have just taken my from bumper off and spaced it out a half inch with some washers... im not that smart though!
