how hard is the leveling kit to put on i dont think i can afford a lift kit but i want a little bit bigger tires on my truck. i have the 2wd f-150 302 95
It's a snap. You need to remove the little metal clip at the top, that holds the spring in place at the top. There is a nut on the bottom, you'll see it in the middle of the spring. You need to unbolt that, and you're set. The bottom nut is 1 1/8, and I was able to remove it with a wrench and pipe for more leverage. You need to jack the truck up on stands. Then, with a floor jack, put it under the side you are working on. Put the jack there just enough to support it, don't put any tension on the spring. Unbolt it, remove it, drop the axle down more (make sure you leave enough room to be able to lower the axle more with the jack because the new springs are taller!) and install the new one in reverse of the removal. Tighten it up and you're set. As long as there is no tension on the spring, you're good to go.
