Just installed the 2 inch AS leveling kit on 08 screw 4wd-now front sits about 1 inch higher than rear. Thinking of putting on a Firestone Ride Right rear kit to level things out and give a little extra support. I have a leer topper on and I think that what is making rear low. My question-has anyone put on the firestone kit with an aftermarket exhaust. I have a MBRP single side exhaust and am worried that the extra diameter will be in the way of the airbag.
I can't speak for your particular exhaust, as I had a Magnaflow 16616 (dual side in front of tire) on mine. But I doubt you would have interference problems, as the RideRites fit pretty well inboard.
They're a really good investment, especially after putting a leveling kit on. Any additional weight (like your topper) will make the rear sag. While mine sat level when unloaded (Truxxx 3" kit), I had the bags to level out if needed.
Since you have the topper, you may need more than the typical 8-10 psi needed in the bags at all times, so you may have a somewhat stiffer ride. But again, I think the best solution to the combination of leveling kit and topper weight is to slap a set of RideRites on. I got mine on e-bay but forget the vendor, cost was approx $220...well worth it.
if you don't need the extra carrying capacity and don't want the stiffer ride, get a larger lift block for the rear. 0 maintenance, 0 ride change, about 120.00 less than the air bags... just a thought.
i cant seem to figure this one out - but i installed 2.5" level kit on my wifes 4x4 Screw and the rear end sits exactly level with the front. How come so many have lower rears? Maybe Im missing something here...
I measured again-have 275/55/20 factory tires-with 2" AS front lift-front wheel opening to ground-39 3/4-rear 38 3/4. I would guess that my issue is the 10XQ Leer Topper at 300 lbs. I guess I like the option of the Firestone Bags so when I do load it up I'm not blinding everyone. I did lower my headlight aim when I put the lift on.
Put on the Firestone ride rite air bag kit today. Running 15 lbs pressure-solved my rear sag issue. Got a nice surprise on the 8 mile ride home from work-got a nice improvement in ride quality.
