That's a long story so bear with me. I'd start a new thread but I'm in fear that I might provoke pranking against moderators, hehe so I'll keep it hidden here.

I was doing my rounds on FTE before heading to bed. Matt's Combine Prank post caught my eye. Being a city slicker I was getting a kick out of the "Turning of the Combine's." Also the Key thing caught my attention. Something similar came up in motorcycle talk the other day.

Anyways, I don't know where I got the idea. It was just there. It took a little more research than I had figured. Plus I was risking getting banned for registering with multiple accounts. But I figured what the heck, wouldn't be the first time I've been banned.

I've never have met Matt. Not that I could remember. And quite frankly I don't think we've carried on much of a conversation on the boards. I've pretty much have only read his posts as I'm sure he has read mine.

First problem was I couldn't remember what city Matt was from. So I had to do a site search with forboy_52 as the author. Started with the oldest post first. After a few pages I found the Tornado thread. Matt didn't mention what city he was from but did mention the county. So I Mapquested Matt's county and that jogged my memory on the city. "Plainville" I remembered it from Matt's location when he joined. For some reason it has always reminded me of Clark Kent.

OK, have the city. Went to Google and Googled "Implement Dealers Plainville, KS" HHHmmmm a nice selection came up. At that point I realized I needed to find out exactly what kind of Combine Matt's family farmed with to make this a little more believable. So it was back to the site search. Believe me, I scanned a lot of posts before I found it. Finally I came across a thread that someone had posted a cool picture of a huge Combine in a huge field. (musta been around harvest time) That picture had brought out the combine owners and everyone started posting what they had. Bingo!!! New Holland.

Then It was back to Google.... New Holland implement dealers Plainville, KS ... First one to come up was Farm Implement Supply. This place kinda threw me off. At least the picture of the business on their website did. It looked like just a small round metal barracks style building. I didn't even see any New Hollands in the pic. I did a few more searches but they kept bringing me back to this FIS. Matt later told me that FIS, is one of the biggest New Holland Dealers around. lol Go figure.

Now I don't condone registering under multiple accounts. In fact it'll probably get you banned or put on super duty secret probation. So just don't do it. But for some reason I had to do it. FarmImplementSupply would be FTE's newest registered user.

I had my post all planned out. It was going to be fairly generic. "No we know who did it. We are calling the police in the morning" But thanks to FTE's required fields in the registration prosses, that would change later. hehe

I decided it would be best to use most of the contact info that I could from FIS in case someone looked into FIS's profile. FTE required first and last name of the person registering. Todd in the sales the department had used his part of his name in his email address (toddsales at XXXX). So I used Todd as the first name and not knowing the last name I just used Sales. I used all of their physical location stuff but decided not to use their e-mail addy in case FTE made me confirm my account and plus I didn't want FIS getting post replies.

Now that the registration was complete, it was time to post. By this time I figured the chances of me getting the name of Implement dealer that experienced the "Turning of the Combine" was probably about 50%, if that. It was then that I decided that I should spruce up the post a little for reading entertainment. I remembered that FIS's site said it was family owned and operated. When it comes to family owned businesses, 80% of the time it will be the younger ones that are more internet savvy, so they'll be the ones posting. That's where I got "I told dad that I thought it was you."

Welp, It turns out that I was correct on the pranked implement dealer's name. And apparently Farm Implement & Supply is truly family owned and operated because Todd, the guys name I used to register, is the really owners son. With these factors combined, It musta threw Matt for a loop. Sounded like he was sweating a little till he was able to match up my user name with my IP. I guess I should have drove to Plainville. He'd still be sweating. lol

It's late. Hope that made sense. Del and Curtis put me up to it. Please direct any type of retaliation towards them.

I was a little nerves to long on this evening. I kinda thought my computer might explode or spit some shaving cream out at me.

People do lurk. I have many times before I have joined a few sites.

Also someone could have called Todd to let him know. And then he registered.

Someone could still call Todd if 97Centurion gets harmed in anyway.

Great practical joke. What makes it great is the planning and execution and how it fit. Great job Tony. I hope I don't get on the receiving end of one like that.

Matt, you're a good sport.

Matt, Chad, Duane, Tony, I thing we should send Todd at FIS a KS chapter FTE T-shirt in the mail without any explanation other than a thankyou card for his support. LOL

Planning and execution came from boredom. And I'll be watching my back around here for a while. I bet the Moderators forum is just buzzing with suggestions on payback. lol

HHmmmm, Haven't heard a thing out of Matt. The long arm of the law must have caught up to him or he is still thinking about payback.

I had one emailed to me the other day...

Lady makes a turkey for thanksgiving - her MIL sends her out to the store whaile she is gone the take the turkey remove all the stuffing and place a small corish game hen inside, then replace the stuffing and place the turkey back in the oven. When the turkey is on the table and the stuffing is being removed, the woman hits something hard? She removes the hen to wich several people say she cooked a preagnant bird... It actually ook them 2 hours to convince her it was a prank and turkeys lay eggs.

I am planning on covering the turkey with an aluminum foill "bikini" this year. Should be halarious!! Oops my brother is a member here... Don't tell, Troy.
