Transmission locked in reverse.
Transmission slipped on F150 V6 2001XLT. Upon returning to parking lot, heard "clunks" and parked. Now, upon starting it, it won't go in reverse, and, I can't even push it back in neutral. It is lock. Is The Overdrive button is flashing "OFF" on the shifter. Other than that, not sure what else to tell ya.
Is there an electronic componant? or engine computer issue with this? or is this just plan slipped gears and tranny problems mechanicalle'?

Not really sure what all is in the new automatics.........but I'd bet it's something drastic.
Only reason it won't roll is one: parking pin is stuck or, two: one of the planetaries has come apart in turn locking up the output shaft.
How many miles on it?
Will it roll forward or drive forward?
