Xcal3 FTW hyper tech doesnt do anything as far as im concerned, the Xcal unless you have a "tuner" put a tune on it, requires you to tune it your self, and if you dont know what you are doing, you better forget about it.
I used one on my 97, the only thing I think they are good for is firming up shifts and changing shift points. Beyond that, I didnt see anything noticable.
well just got the max energy programmer today, and it doesnt even do half the stuff it claims for the 97!! only thing i can do is put the hypertech program on it and there shift firmness, i cant even even adjust the shifts to were i want them. and it reads DTC's. nothing else for the 97, so im returning it to sumitt, one of the reasons i wanted it was to correct the speedo from the bigger wheels too and it cant do that! i called hypertech and they said the 97 is limited to what can be programmed so they said i have to put the program back to stock before i return it cause they have a machine that can tell if it isnt,lol!
