[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Sep-02 AT 09:16 PM (EST)]I have the oportunity to get a pair of coil springs off a 78 F250 with the thought of putting them on my 79 F100.My question is this, would the F250 springs cause a stiffer ride as opposed to just replacing my tired springs with replacements for the F100.At present my right spring is very weak so this is something i have to do fairly soon.Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks.
Yes, It would stiffen the ride, and raise the ride height. How much, I don't know, but it will do both.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
That's it for mods now, saving for a Stang. Check out my Gallery for a look-see.

No the new shocks wouldn't help very much. They only dampen the spring's occilation, they don't support the truck. You could stick the F250 springs in and run a new shock with less dampening so that it won't be as stiff, but it will still always be stiffer than an F150 spring.
