I got ripped off when i bought mine. The first one broke on me when I was torquing the bolt that one was $100,and i was luckily able to find another one for $50.
It's not aluminum. It's some crappy alloy that is really brittle, and is barely weldable. I took mine to a welding shop, and they managed to get it back into one piece with the aid of a high end TIG and I think magnesium filler. I am just waiting for it to fail again and I will be looking for a replacement too.

I didnt think to be able to bring mine to a weld shop, when i saw that the material was like freakin sand, i figured to just give up, everything about them is brittle. Even the vice with bolt set up to tighten the handle that broke on me too
Dont man to high jack a tread but if I need a part number besides a dealer how do I find it.
I have a 1990 f350 crewcab 4x4. I broke the piece that connects the selector rod to the transfercase it looks to be made of aluminum and ford said its obsolete and couldnt give me a part number.
