Brake woes

Okay I installed a 78 front axel on my 73 f250 4x4. So now I am contending with the brake lines and porportioning vavle. I am redueing all my hard lines on the truck. First question is from the master cylinder to the porportioning vavle there are loops in the line, do I have to rebend loop in my new line or can I run it straight to the vavle? also on a 78 vavle witch outlet is to the left or right , top or bottom of the vavle. Then on the rear brake part of the master cyclinder I got 3/16 line going to the porp vavle and 3/16 going to the front calipers. but from the master cyclinder to the prop vavle for the front brakes I will have either 5/16 or 3/8 line, will that be a problem?

I can help on the loops. Those are to allow for flex. If you connect your proportioning valve to the master cyilnder with just a straight line, you risk kinking or breaking a line when the cab shimmies on the frame. You can probably get away without doing as many as they had from the factory but you should definitely put a couple loops in there. Personally, I think 5/16" and definitely 3/8" are too big for brake lines but I'd be curious what others have to say on that. Pressure comes from the resistance to fluid flow, and brake lines are very high pressure. I think you'd run into problems with the pedal being soft if you run lines that big.

fmc400 is correct, both about the loops and losing line pressure with the larger brake lines.

I was able to use 3/16 line for everything except for the rear line from the prop vave back. wich is the factory line. I still got a problem after I got everything togather and bleed out I got my right rear tire still locking up before the rest, it did it before too. what would cause that?
