tranny issue
01 ranger 3.0 4x4 5r55e
my tranny is acting up hold the gas down from a stop it bounces off the rev limiter drive normal and it wont go into o/d tried the 1 gear manual test and it is as you are in neutral and the fliud does not smell burnt
I went ahead and changed out the valve body gasket and separator plate put a new filter in and it is still doing it. I did not see any blow outs in the gaskets on the plate.
when I pulled the pan there was a fair amount of metal flakes and the magnet had a bunch of what seem to be metal dust on it.
I had it rebuilt 2.5 years ago
you think its time for another rebuild or you think I can salvage it still. There is no slipping while driving.

This time around, make sure they rebuilt it right, with the proper solenoid bushings to compensate for the wear. The solenoids wear into the case, and so unless you do a bushing kit or replace the case, the problem will come back.
