[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Sep-02 AT 08:28 PM (EST)]My problems started when I added leveling Springs from Rough Country on my 1996 Ford F150 2wd Regular Bab Short Bed. After I installed the springs It lifted the truck so much that I had Positive camber on the front wheels. So I had the alignment job done and even after the alignment job it still had the positive camber. They said they added a new camber shim but it was adjusted all the way it can go. The Positive camber was not as bad, but I can still tell. Now after 6 months the front tires won't even stand up on there own because the outside has worn so much. So now I need new tires and instead of putting new tires back on to wear wrong, I just decided to put normal springs back in. Now the real problem (Kicking myself for this) I have discarded the original springs. I ordered new springs for my truck (Model CC824) and I still experience the same problem. The camber is still way off. It did not seem to lower the Truck at all from the leveling springs. I did confirm the part number several times and they say it's right, even called different shops to confirm. I am so frustrated with the problem. Must have removed the springs a half dozen times. It seems no matter what spring I get (Tried 3 different ones) it will not get the height bad to normal (Everything too High). Unfortunately I do not have the original springs which had the Ford Spring Model on it. I It seems my options are 1.) Get the springs heated to have them lowered. 2.) Place Spring Clamps on to lower the spring (Definately not my first choice) 3.) Pay through the nose and try to get springs from Ford 4.) Get the spring number from Ford and try to get spring number from them to buy from Junk Yard.
I just called the Ford Dealership and they said that when you install a new spring it will settle about an inch. I though that it was kind of a lot. When I installed the leveling springs it only dropped a half inch at the most over six months. Is this true?

I am so frustrated and any help would really be appreciated.
I have stock springs available, but 1/2 inch settling on those springs sounds ok. If the shop couldn't align it, bring it to another shop. The stock camber alignment bushings allow 1 degree of camber positive or negative. They have 2-3 degree ones. If it's out more than 3 degrees, something else is wrong here.

Hey man, I just took off a set of brand new heavy duty front springs that I had installed on my 94 F-150 4x2.. I recently just installed a lift kit, so the springs, even though just purchased, had to come off.
They are heavy duty, but they didnt lift the truck up at all when I put them on... They are still shiney black..
I'll sell them to ya for less than my cost that I had to pay for them.
