strange 02 electrical problem

on my 02 F250 xlt-larial diesel, last night the satellite radio kept on turning on and off every 30 seconds or so. then i noticed that every time this happened, you could hear a relay clicking under the dash, and the stereo would go back to a low volume.

when i stopped at the store, i noticed every time the radio would "tic", the glow plug light came on.

it did this a total of 20-30 times before i got home and shut the truck off.

it never did this before in the year i have had it.

is this a symptom of something overheating in the electrical system??

I would check the connections out at the alternator and the batteries, and also keep an eye on the voltage when driving.

well Dave, it seems you are correct to a degree, and i am an idiot.

i popped the hood to check alternator output voltage, and the driver side battery had mushrooms growing on the terminals.
apparently the passenger side supplies power to the starter, and the driver side powers the computer.
it took almost 10 minutes of a baking soda immersion bath before the cable ends stopped bubbling and were clean.

i guess with the rain Friday night, the crud on top of the battery started shorting the battery out.

anyway, both batteries and their terminals are now clean, and dielectric sealer coated.
