My 1995 7.3 L power stroke diesel will not start since weather has turned cold. It cranks great but won't start. someone said change glow plugs. someone else said they never go bad??? someone else said winter diesel blends are not yet in filling stations. HELP open for suggestions
By the way it has performance chip, amsoil oil system.
thanks
Where is your location? check your glow plug relay, they have a tendency to go bad more often than your glow plugs. Also check your batteries and make sure they are good. if they are weak, depending on how cold it is, they will not allow u to start your truck

Welcome to FTE, glad to have you here. There is another forum under this one on the main page that is for your year truck. Don't get me wrong, you are welcome here. I just wanted to let you know about the other forum.
Welcome to FTE. Yes glow plugs do go bad (that's why they're available at the auto parts store). Stay away from the autolite brand. As mentioned, also check your GPR (glow plug relay). You can hold a screwdriver across the 2 big posts to short the relay for 20 or 30 seconds to see if that helps in starting. You can also use a multi-meter to read the voltage on the relay when the truck is first turned on.
If you're worried about not having winter fuel, drain some fuel out of the water separator into a clear jar. Let it sit outside overnight. If it still looks like liquid in the morning, then winter fuel has nothing to do with it.
